Geology Lesson

The Niagara
escarpment.
Granite, limestone
and shale.
Erodes daily.
In increments that
are measurable only
in years.
Ancient tides
receded
and mountains rose
between
rivers that
long to find one another.
Proof then,
that desire is
eternal.

  1. I have long been quite taken with your prose, and impressed about how you capture feelings generated by life experiences, more than a few of which we have had in common in the course of different lives. But your poetry is truly and utterly breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing it. It has truly made my day.
I don't want to be a nudge (and I intend a book as well, but know well how life gets in the way), but please try to find the time while you have it. You've been given the gift of a great talent which, like what little I have, was then well-honed by the discipline of BVM nuns to our mutual good fortune.
Use that wonderful talent to touch fellow spirits. Again, thank you.
